More info about the roles
General
As a general, you, together with a second general, are responsible for the entire set-up for the kick-off, from start to finish. You will be involved in distributing the sponsor teams, planning the kick-off and leading it through its execution. This is a large and important leadership role. You will plan the implementation, lead the captains and at the same time keep an eye on everything going well with sponsors and reccars and that everyone is doing well and having fun. You also bear the ultimate responsibility for keeping the kick-off within the framework of the association's rules and policies.
This means that it takes a lot of time and energy as you will start your work immediately after you take up the role in the spring. Most things should be ready before the summer break so that the kick-off can be as good as possible. However, it may be necessary to keep a few balls rolling during the summer to ensure that everything is ready when the final preparations are made in August and the kick-off approaches. A fun and challenging role that will definitely give you new experiences!
Captain
As a captain, you are responsible for one of the four kick-off teams. This role is suitable for someone who is organized, social and has leadership skills. You have ongoing contact with the other three captains and the generals regarding the setup/schedule and are responsible for ensuring that your team is informed and motivated throughout the kick-off. Together with you, you will then have a number of sponsors who are also dedicated to your team, but the responsibility lies with you to keep everything together.
This means that you will need to set aside some time during the spring to support the generals in planning, even more time during the period before the kick-off (in August), and be present during all days of the kick-off.
Sponsor
As a sponsor, you are part of one of the four kick-off teams and work to make all new reccars feel welcome and involved. You will work in close collaboration with the other sponsors in the team and with the team captain. Your main focus is to contribute to a good atmosphere and cohesion in the group, make sure that everyone feels motivated and to help with structure and organization together with the team captain.
This means that you will mainly participate during the kick-off days, but there may also be some work in advance.
Camera Crew
As a Camera Crew, you have a very important role in documenting the kick-off. The photos taken during the kick-off will be very fun memories and the more and better photos taken, the more value we create for the new students.
You should have access to a camera to use during the kick-off and if you have knowledge of editing and managing images or cutting videos, that is a plus, but absolutely not a requirement!
This means that you should be there every day during the kick-off, every missed picture is a lost memory. You are ultimately responsible for ensuring that everything is documented during the kick-off and that pictures are taken every day. Not much work is required in advance, a lot of work during the kick-off and some post-work will be needed.
Dance manager
As dance manager, you will, in addition to your other role in the kick-off, also be involved in creating the recce dance that will then be taught to the kick-off team. You will come up with suggestions for songs that are suitable for the recce dance and based on this you will then be responsible for creating the dance itself. Finally, you will be involved in recording a video for this and teaching it to the rest of the kick-off team.
This is primarily work that is done before the kick-off week itself (in August).
